Facilities/Maintenance Worker I

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to assess and problem solve at a high level
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to lift and move items up to 30 lbs., carry, bend, walk, stoop, push, pull and twist
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours
  • Must be able to climb ladders and/or steps
  • Must be able to work in extreme hot and cold environment

Specific Work Experience:

 Beverage bottling/food manufacturing experience required

  • Minimum 1-3 (one-three) years supervisory experience
  • Five (5) or more years related experience in a manufacturing environment with emphasis in a food-oriented industry
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers
  • Conduct quality control testing
  • Advanced skills required in one or more areas: burner and process controls, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, plumbing, carpentry or piping systems

 Job Description:

The Maintenance/Mechanic is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Install facility machinery
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility machinery
  • Write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
  • Program PLC’s
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs
  • Effective communicate with all departments and shifts
  • Maintain and secure work tools
  • LOTO trained
  • Work as a team member
  • Follow all safety procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by management

General Labor/Production

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to read, write and perform basic math.
  • Ability to handle frequent twisting, bending, and reaching.
  • Understand and carry out oral instructions.
  • Standing for long periods of time

Specific Work Experience:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 12 lbs to a distance up to 20 feet.

 Job Description:

The Hand Packer is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Correctly pack the units by amount in appropriate container then place on conveyor belt.
    • Spot check at least one bag per case (minimum) for correct code date, back seal, and registration seals
    • Pack the appropriate amount of potato chip bags in the box, close box, and place on conveyor belt.
    • Take potato chip/popcorn bags off the turn table and placing the correct quantity into the box or sleeve packing machine.
    • Place boxes on the conveyor belt
    • Remove defective bags and place in designated containers for recycling.
    • Inform machine operator of any bag issues immediately whereas the operator can correct issue.
  • Erect case carton
  • Apply label to case.
  • Clean area at the end of shift for next team or end of night
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area (ex. Keep bags off floor, sweep, empty trash)
  • Label boxes
  • Housekeeping during machine down time
  • Work as a team member
  • Follow all safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervision/management.

General Labor/Sanitation

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to handle twisting, bending, lifting, and reaching.

  • May use forms of hi-lo equipment (i.e., lifts)
  • Math calculations

 Specific Work Experience:

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by these positions include close vision.

 Job Description:

The General Laborer is responsible for, but not limited to: 

  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
    • Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the Organization
    • Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract four-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume ad distance.
    • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional variables.
  • Responsible for performing cleaning and sanitizing duties following the appropriate Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure (SSOP) in assigned areas as it relates to the cleanliness and wholesomeness of the facility.
  • Cleaning locker rooms/restrooms (sinks, commodes, showers, mirrors, refill all paper products) as directed.
  • Regular upkeep of the lot and grounds (especially sidewalk areas, visitor, and employee entrances).
  • Cleaning office (including pulling trash, cleaning floor).
  • Clean cafeteria (microwaves, refrigerators, tables, under machines) sinks and drinking fountains.
  • Ensure all stations are filled with hand towels and soap.
  • Maintain and clean all floors in the Warehouse.
  • Maintain and empty all garbage cans.
  • Any general cleaning assigned by management.
  • Perform general laborer – warehouse duties as needed/necessary.

  • Well organized & Detail Oriented.
  • Previous supervisory experience with unionized workforce.
  • Flexible work hours & Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift and move items up to 50 lbs., carry, bend, walk, stoop, push, pull and twist.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and/or steps.
  • Must be able to work in extreme hot and cold environment.

Specific Work Experience:

  • Beverage bottling/food manufacturing experience required.
  • High school diploma, at least one maintenance certification.
  • Five (5) or more years related experience in a manufacturing environment with emphasis in a food-oriented industry.

Job Description:

The Facilities/Maintenance Worker is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • The primary responsibility of the Facility/Maintenance Worker II is to repair and maintain all equipment and structure of the plant. This includes immediate repairs to machines that are down during production hours, as well as permanent repairs and preventative maintenance functions to ensure continuous operations. Structural and facility repairs must also meet or exceed all stands for food safety and clean environment for a food processing facility and meet or exceed all stands for food safety to include HACCP, QA, SQF, GMP, AND OSHA safety programs.
  • Supervisor exempt maintenance staff.
  • Write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
  • Program PLC’s
