CHAD BARTON OF ARDMORE, OKLAHOMA CHOSEN AS BETTER MADE SNACK FOOD’S 2020 FATHER OF THE YEAR
* Barton, a foster father, and his wife adopt two young children – a true blended family *
ARDMORE, OK – Lacy Barton of Ardmore, OK nominated her husband, Chad Barton, as Better Made Snack Food’s 2020 Father of the Year. The reason is simple – Chad’s heart is as big as hers when it comes to family, their own kids, and their foster/adopted kids. For Lacy’s winning submission, Chad will receive a sampler box of fresh, delicious Better Made snack foods.
Lacy, an elementary school principal, is no stranger to having foster children, as she has helped over 15 children by providing a loving home environment. When she and Chad were married, Chad had a 15-year-old daughter of his own, and Lacy had older children, then they welcomed three-month-old Mister and six-year-old Mya into their home as foster children. At Christmastime 2019, Mister, now two, and Mya, now eight, were adopted by Chad and Lacy. As Lacy says:
“Adopting the two children was a great way to celebrate Christmas! They were both foster children from different families, and since the adoption, Chad and the children are inseparable. Mister is African American and Chad is Caucasian, but to Chad, Mister, and the entire family, color doesn’t matter. They love each other with their whole heart and Mya now has a positive father figure in her life that she never had. We’re truly a loving, blended family in so many ways. Chad is proud to tell others of his six children – one biological, three stepchildren, and two adopted. I found out about the Father of he Year contest on-line and wanted to do something for Chad by nominating him. Thank you, Better Made!”
