The Dog days of summer have arrived. You already had your first barbecue, pool party, lake day. Now its time to turn your attention to your summer bingo board and try up those new recipes you have been holding off because you don’t have the perfect time to do it. So fire up the grill and try these various snacks using Better Made Chips.

Barbecue Chips & Bratwurst Sausages 

On a warm summer night, there’s nothing quite like the sizzle of bratwursts on the grill. Heat your backyard barbecue up by pairing those juicy brats with a side of Better Made BBQ chips. The smoky, savory flavors of the bratwurst perfectly complement the bold and tangy taste of the BBQ chips, creating a delicious harmony of flavors. Need a refresher on how to cook the perfect Brat?

Ingredients:

* Bratwurst sausages

* Johnsonville Brats 

* Usinger Brats 

* Vegetable oil

* Salt and pepper (to taste)

* Buns (for serving)

* Optional toppings: mustard, ketchup, sauerkraut, onions, etc.

Instructions:

  1. 1. Preheat your grill to medium heat.
  2. 2. Brush the bratwurst sausages with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
  3. 3. Place the brats on the grill and cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are evenly browned and cooked through.
  4. 4. If desired, you can create grill marks by rotating the brats a quarter turn every few minutes.

Tangy Feta Dip

Whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue or spending a day on the lake, this Feta Dip offers a cooling balance to the summer and Barbecue heat. This recipe pairs well with any of our chips, but the Sour Cream & Onion go especially well.

Ingredients:

  • * 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • * 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • * 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • * 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • * 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • * 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • * 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • * Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. 1.Combine the crumbled feta cheese, Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, and minced garlic in a medium-sized bowl. Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. 2.Add the chopped parsley and dill to the bowl and stir to combine. The fresh herbs will add a burst of flavor to the dip.
  3. 3.Season the dip with salt and black pepper to taste. Remember that feta cheese can be salty, so adjust the seasoning accordingly.
  4. 4.Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Barbecue Chip Nachos

Like any nachos, the ratio of meat and cheese is important. This is especially hard, since our chips have been known to steal the show. The BBQ chips add a unique spicy flavor, but the nachos are flexible. Feel free to use our White Corn Tortilla Chip for a less spicy more traditional snack.

Ingredients: 

  • * 1 bag of Better Made Barbecue Chips
  • * 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • * 1 cup cooked and seasoned ground beef or shredded chicken (optional)
  • * 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • * 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • * 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • * 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • * 1 jalapeño pepper, sliced (optional) add more for extra spice
  • * Guacamole, sour cream, and salsa for serving

Instructions:

  1. 1. Preheat your grill to medium heat.
  2. 2. Prepare a large piece of aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet or a grill-safe pan.
  3. 3. Spread a layer of Barbecue Chips on the aluminum foil, covering the entire surface.
  4. 4. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese evenly over the chips.
  5. 5. Add half of the cooked and seasoned ground beef or shredded chicken (if using), distributing it evenly.
  6. 6. Sprinkle half of the diced tomatoes, sliced black olives, diced red onion, and jalapeño slices (if desired) on top.
  7. 7. Repeat steps 3-6 to create another layer of chips, cheese, and toppings.
  8. 8. Carefully transfer the baking sheet or grill-safe pan onto the preheated grill.
  9. 9. Close the grill lid and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the nachos are heated through.
  10. 10. Once done, remove the baking sheet or pan from the grill and let the nachos cool for a minute.
  11. 11. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro and serve immediately with guacamole, sour cream, and salsa on the side.

Cheesy Bacon Barbecue Chips 

Fire up the grill, grab a bag of Better Made Barbecue Chips, and get ready to never look at snacking the same way again. This recipe is tailor-made for cheese and bacon lovers. It combines bacon, cheese and the most important ingredient of all Better Made BBQ Chips. its the perfect 1-2 from the nachos, but be aware this is not for the faint of heart (or vegan).

Ingredients:

  • * 1 bag of Better Made Barbecue Chips
  • * 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • * 1/2 cup crispy cooked bacon, crumbled
  • * 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • * 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • * Barbecue sauce (your favorite brand), for drizzling

Instructions:

  1. 1. Preheat your grill to medium heat.
  2. 2. Lay a large piece of aluminum foil on a baking sheet or a grill-safe pan.
  3. 3. Spread a single layer of Better Made Barbecue Chips on the aluminum foil, covering the entire surface.
  4. 4. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the chips.
  5. 5. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon and diced red onion on top of the cheese.
  6. 6. Place the baking sheet or pan with the chips onto the preheated grill.
  7. 7. Close the grill lid and cook for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the chips are heated through.
  8. 8. Remove the baking sheet or pan from the grill and let the Cheesy Bacon Barbecue Chips cool for a minute.
  9. 9. Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the top.
