Some pets seem quite content in their surroundings and such is the case with Hazel, who lives in Ishpeming with her owner Carli Nevala. “I adopted Hazel in May 2016 and is now about 11 years old,” say Carli. “We think she is a mix between a standard tabby and a Maine Coon cat. She was in a “kill shelter” in Flint and was brought to the U.P. Animal Welfare Shelter in Marquette. I adopted her from that shelter. Her tail is bobbed and it’s funny to her flip it up like a white tail deer and hop away.”
