Detroit-Style Loaded Nachos

Restaurant-style chips, Detroit-made, built to hold a full load.

Easy

New Era chips are cut restaurant-style, which is the only kind that survives a real nacho tray. Thick enough that a full scoop of cheese and beef will not fold them in half. Better Made has been making snacks in Detroit since 1930, and this is the tray that proves the tortilla chip belongs in the lineup.

Detroit-Style Loaded Nachos

Ingredients

1 bag Better Made New Era Tortilla Chips
2 cups shredded cheddar
1 cup shredded Monterey jack
1/2 lb seasoned ground beef, cooked
1/2 cup black beans, rinsed
1/4 cup pickled jalapeños
1/2 cup diced tomato
1/4 cup sliced green onion
1/2 cup sour cream
Better Made Barbecue Seasoning Shaker, for finishing
Fresh cilantro, optional

Instructions

Heat oven to 400°F.
Spread the tortilla chips evenly on a sheet pan lined with foil.
Scatter the cheeses, ground beef, black beans, and jalapeños across the chips.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and bubbling at the edges.
Top with diced tomato, green onion, and dollops of sour cream.
Finish with a generous shake of Barbecue across the whole tray.
Add cilantro if using. Serve straight from the pan.
BETTER MADE TIP

Build in two layers instead of one. Chips, cheese, chips, cheese, so the middle of the tray gets as loaded as the edges. The Barbecue Shaker on the finish ties the whole plate together.
